Just Say No
Saying no to kids prepares them for disappointment - Chicago Sun-Times
One of my favorite lines from The Princess Bride:
Inigo Montoya: Who are you?
Westley: No one of consequence.
Inigo Montoya: I must know...
Westley: Get used to disappointment.
Inigo Montoya: 'kay.
Parents today don't like to disappoint their children, I know I don't, but I also understand that disappointment is part of life, and to shield kids from disappointment is not healthy for them and can cause them to grow up with the idea that they should not be disappointed, never, ever.
Tell me what you think.
